Zoom and Pan

You can zoom, and scroll your slices individually, or as a whole using the buttons on the "Magnify" panel Panel to set the image magnification.

If the Auto Link Zoom button looks like this: Magnification will be the same for all slices, the zoom and pan setting will automatically be applied to all slices. However, if it looks like this: Magnification can set independetly for all slices, then if there is selected slice the zoom and pan apply only to that slice. If there is no slice selected, then the operations apply to all slices regardless.

If your mouse has a scroll wheel you can zoom in using the mouse by pointing (with the mouse) to an image feature on which you want to zoom, and turning the scroll wheel. Pulling the scroll wheel towards you zooms in, pushing it away zooms out. (You can reverse the scroll wheel behaviour in the user Preferences).
If your mouse does not have a scroll wheel you can zoom in using the mouse by pointing (with the mouse) to the image, holding down the middle button, and moving the mouse up and down.

The buttons have the following actions:

Button to zoom in zooms in by a fixed amount (120% of the previous value).
Button to zoom out zooms out by a fixed amount (83% of the previous value).
Button to show the image full scale sets the zoom to 100% (no zoom).
Button to link the magnification across all slices if there is a slice selected, sets the zoom and pan of all slices to the same as for the selected slice.

If any of these buttons is greyed-out, this means that the operation is not applicable to the display at this time.

Free Zoom

You can also zoom to any value using the Zoom facility on the View menu. Menu item to set an explicit zoom. This brings up the Zoom Control dialog:

Enter the required zoom factor as either:

Image Scroll (Pan)

You can scroll an image by pointing to an image with the mouse, press and hold down the right mouse button, and drag the image. If the image is zoomed, but the mouse drag does not scroll the image, then select a zoomed slice to enable this feature.
Note: you have to be zoomed in to be able to scroll the image.

When a slice or all slices are zoomed, scroll bars appear at the right and bottom of the image display window:

Image scroll bar

These also allow you to scroll the image up-and-down or left-to-right. Click and drag the blue region of the scroll bar, or click on the arrows at either end of the scroll bars for finer control.

If the image is zoomed, but the scroll bars do not appear, then select a zoomed slice to enable the scroll bars. If you then want set the zoom and scroll of all slices to that of the selected slice, click on the Button to link the image magnification across slices button.

To zoom and scroll all the slices of the image in unison, make sure that all slices have the same zoom and scroll setting (by selecting a slice, and clicking either the Button to link the image magnification across slices button or the Button to set no
