Drag and Drop
Drag and Drop refers
to the process of picking up files icons using the computer mouse, usually
from from some sort of file manager, and dropping them onto the interface of a
software application. If your windows system and java support Drag and Drop,
then you can Drag and Drop various files onto Jim for easy loading. This
section shows you where you can drop various files onto Jim - these are
known as the 'drop targets'.
Main display
You can drop image files onto Jim's display windows to immediately load
them. The files can be in any of the loadable
formats, or DICOM format. The display drop target is shown below outlined in
red.
This drop target works for the main display, slave displays, and movie
displays.
Note: If you want to drop an Analyze image to load it into the display, you
must drop the header (.hdr or .hdr.gz) file rather than the image (.img) file.
You can also drop image files onto the image text panel, outlined in red below:
Input image panel
Many of Jim's tools use an Input Image panel, which is also a drop target.

is shown below outlined in red, for the Algebra tool.
Note: If you want to drop an Analyze image, you
must drop the header (.hdr or .hdr.gz) file rather than the image (.img) file.
Multiple input image panel
In some of Jim's tools, you select multiple in input images; the
Multiple Input Image selection panel is also a drop target.
The files you can drop can be in any of the loadable
formats, but not in DICOM format. A Multiple Input Image panel drop target
is shown below outlined in red, for the Image Registration tool.
Note: You can drop more than one input file at a time onto the Multiple
Input Image panel, if you select more than one in your file manager.
Note: If you want to drop an Analyze image, you
must drop the header (.hdr or .hdr.gz) file rather than the image (.img) file.
ROI Toolkit
When you have the ROI Toolkit open, you can Drag
and Drop ROI files onto the ROI Toolkit anywhere on the drop target shown below
outlined in red.
Regular files
Some of Jim's tools accept any regular files as potential input files.
In these tools, the Multiple File selection panel is a drop target, as shown
below outlined in red, for the Image Converter tool.
Note: You can drop more than one input file at a time onto the Multiple
